Evidence
Free analysis with an inspectable published record
Jake Osgathorpe is Sporting Life’s deputy football editor. His author archive links football previews and statistical analysis. The material inspected was accessible without a paid tipster subscription. This assessment concerns his public work, not a private paid advisory service.
What the sources establish
Dated articles publish selections, bookmakers, prices and point stakes. That gives readers material to check. We have not reconciled every selection, amendment and settlement, or matched a complete record to prices taken by followers.
Podcast work: keep the channels separate
Jake’s October 2026 Pinnacle FC recap identifies his own selections from that programme. The Football Betting Club archive lists him on panels with other contributors and carries bet365 promotions. A 23 December 2024 Betfair episode also names him on its panel. These establish media participation, not independently verified betting profitability.
The Sporting Life column, Pinnacle selections and other panel bets should not be combined without a selection-by-selection check for overlap. Bookmaker-linked media also provides commercial context; it is not, by itself, evidence that the analysis is unreliable.
Results
A public P/L exists
The Sporting Life record separates seasons, tournaments and outrights. Its 1 October 2026 snapshot reports 1,425.65pts staked since 2024. The 2026/27 column stood at −8.8pts through September; October was not yet included. A separate concession-inclusive figure was +0.7pts.
For 2025/26 it reports +35.53pts before Super Sub concessions and +57.33pts with them. This distinction matters: bookmaker rules can change the payout. Losing months are visible.
We have not audited the underlying bets. Stakes are not a bet count, the summary is not a lifetime record of every podcast appearance, and its ROI is not a measured follower return. No independently verified subscriber sample was established.
Followability
Minimum prices help, but do not guarantee availability
In a 4 September 2026 column, Jake advised Julio Enciso shots at 8/5 with an 11/10 minimum, and named the bookmaker. That is useful guidance on when to pass. A bet taken at the minimum has a different payoff from one recorded at the headline price.
The same article explicitly excludes Super Sub payouts from its standard settlement. Followers need to match market wording and bookmaker rules as well as the player and odds. Prop markets and bookmaker concessions are not interchangeable.
One dated price-access example
In a 14 October 2026 reply, Jim W Betting praised Jake’s Champions League selections but said the Inter price had shortened before they followed. The parent post is a winning-picks recap, not a complete season ledger. Jake’s response discusses the late goal and does not measure or resolve the price-access question.
This is one follower’s account, without inspected bet receipts or notification times. We have not measured how long prices hold, what stakes bookmakers accept, or how often readers miss a bet. Free access removes a subscription charge; it does not remove those practical constraints.
Reviews
External opinion and follower feedback
Betting Kingdom: favourable editorial coverage
The directory profile praises Jake’s statistical analysis and free output, but shows zero customer reviews. Its editorial score is not a customer rating. The page questions the availability of a clear results sheet and claims more than 10% ROI without establishing the sample in the text inspected. We found a primary P/L source, linked in Results; the directory’s remarks should not override that evidence.
X: praise with an execution caveat
Jim W Betting’s 14 October 2026 reply is positive about that set of picks while describing one missed price. It supports neither a blanket endorsement nor a claim that the service is generally impossible to follow. The commenter’s betting history has not been verified.
What Reddit adds
A 30 May 2026 SoccerBetting thread reproduces selections attributed to Jake alongside a different Sporting Life contributor. That demonstrates circulation of his work, not a tested follower return. A 13 October PinnacleSportsbook post promotes a podcast discussion; it is not an independent customer review.
Searches for Jake Osgathorpe, Osgathorpe and JAKEOZZ did not establish a substantive independent long-term following trial. The evidence found is mostly published analysis, editorial opinion and isolated public comments. None has been converted into a SharpCheck user rating.
