Evidence

Free football analysis with public results

Who is Jimmy?

Sporting Life identifies Jimmy “The Punt” Cantrill as a football journalist covering the lower leagues, with a preference for trixies and longer prices. Its author archive also uses James Cantrill. Publisher biography and columns ↗

Keep the outlets separate

This assessment covers public football content. A dated Betfair column also publishes his player-card selections. Sporting Life’s totals should not be treated as a combined record of every Betfair, X, podcast or other publisher selection without checking for omissions and overlap. 21 March 2026 Betfair column ↗

What public visibility establishes

The inspected columns were readable without a paid tipster subscription. A BettingOdds biography says he maintains seasonal logs; that statement is not a substitute for a complete ledger. Historical interview and publisher biography ↗

Results

Published profit and loss

Sporting Life’s team page, dated 2 September 2025, lists these season figures:

Publisher-reported seasonal results
SeasonP/LReported ROI
2022/23+56.48pts+10%
2023/24−97.36pts−17%
2024/25−45.95pts−6%
2025/26 — early snapshot+13.36pts+28%

Original season summary ↗

The first three rows sum to −86.83pts: 56.48 − 97.36 − 45.95. This checks the arithmetic of published summaries, not their underlying bets. The 2025/26 row predates most of that season; a final total was not established here. ROI percentages cannot simply be added.

2026/27 column snapshot

The 15 October 2026 column reports 62.1pts staked, 34.22pts returned and −27.88pts P/L. Subtracting stakes from returns reproduces that loss; dividing by stakes gives −44.9%, consistent with its rounded −45% ROI. This is a dated column total, not a verified lifetime record. Followability

Can readers obtain the prices?

A timestamp helps; a price history would establish more

The 15 October column quotes Elliott Hewitt to be carded at 9/2 with bet365, staking 1pt. It timestamps odds at 15:50 BST on 14 October, before the next evening’s match, and discusses uncertainty before team news. That documents a quotation, not how long it remained available or what stakes were accepted. Original selection and odds timestamp ↗

Jimmy’s own explanation of liquidity

On 2 July 2026, Jimmy replied to CL34B about a Cancelo price shortening. He attributed the movement to limited liquidity and follower demand, suggesting waiting until team news. This concerned another account’s selection: it is not evidence that Jimmy’s own recorded prices were unavailable. Original reply and parent conversation ↗

What remains unmeasured

A representative comparison needs original release times, advised and minimum odds, prices available after release, accepted stakes and missed bets. No such current sample was established. Free access removes a subscription charge for these columns; it does not resolve bookmaker restrictions or price movement.

Reviews

External coverage and follower evidence

15 April 2024: one price-movement report

In a reply to Jimmy’s Cole Palmer post, @MorganJSauer said the price had shortened from 8/5 to 6/5, with 6/4 apparently available elsewhere. The same thread discusses the reader’s own combined bets and a misread selection. It is useful dated price commentary, not a clean following trial or proof of Jimmy’s long-term execution. No bet receipts or odds history were verified. Read the original thread ↗

Betting Kingdom: favourable editorial description

Betting Kingdom describes his free content and focus on bigger-priced selections positively. Its page displayed zero customer reviews when checked on 17 October 2026. That is editorial coverage, not verified customer testimony; we do not convert its rating into a SharpCheck score. Read the publisher’s assessment ↗

The evidence supports public record disclosure, including losses. It does not establish a typical follower return or a measured current rate of obtaining prices.
