What does a public betting record actually prove?

Football tipster records range from individual bets to monthly totals. This comparison shows what you can inspect, which service it covers, and what still needs checking.

By SharpCheck · Published 31 October 2026 · Source check dates shown individually

Public access is the starting point

A public tracker makes results easier to examine. It does not, on its own, prove that every tip was posted before kickoff, that no selections were omitted, or that followers could obtain the recorded odds. None of the records below is certified here as a complete, independently audited subscriber return.

Mark O’Haire and Jamie’s Bets have public bet-level trackers in the snapshots examined. Jake has a publisher’s period summary, James’s Win Picks list has daily profit summaries, and Betinum’s free and paid records cover different selections. Anthony’s media archive is a different kind of evidence again.

What would establish a complete record?

Define the service and start date first. Then match every original selection to its publication time, market, bookmaker, advised odds, stake and settlement, retaining losses, voids and amendments. A claimed lifetime return needs evidence for the whole period, including tracker moves.

Follower returns require another step: the prices and stakes actually accepted, missed bets, fees and account restrictions. Minimum odds are useful instructions, but a record settled at headline odds does not measure the return at those minimums.

Method and limitations

This comparison draws on the linked SharpCheck research snapshots. Older checks are labelled rather than presented as current live audits. The sample was chosen from profiles discussed in our recent search review and contrasting record formats; it is not an endorsement of the included services.

For James’s Win Picks, we summed the 152 displayed daily rows and divided the resulting 15.72-unit profit by 488 one-unit stakes. Daily rounding may affect that result. We did not reconstruct each bet or include an assumed subscription charge. Other records have not been re-audited for this comparison.

Missing information stays unknown. A longer public history or a positive total is not a guarantee of future profit. Read our research methods.
